Welcome to St Andrew's

St Andrew's church stands isolated in fields north of Wood Walton village, which is located three miles east of the A1(M) in northwest Cambridgeshire.

On the top of the hill, St Andrew's churchyard is a tranquil place.

Surrounded by fields, only the occasional passing train breaks the silence.

A brief history

Although the Domesday Survey of 1086 recorded a church in the parish of Wood Walton, there is no evidence this early building was on the site of the current church.

Visit the church in September

The Church will be open to the public as part of Heritage Open Days 2023 from 2pm to 5 pm on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September.

We're delighted to have been awarded over £38,000 from the government's #CultureRecoveryFund for repairing the pews in the nave and tiling to the chancel.

The fund, administered by Historic England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund is designed to secure the future of Britain's museums, galleries, theatres, independent cinemas, heritage sites and music venues with emergency grants and loans.

Thank you, DCMS and Historic England.
